Hume Tech School

Hume Tech School is a specialist STEM education centre hosted by Kangan Institute and located in Broadmeadows. We deliver free, hands‑on STEM programs for secondary school students across the Hume local government area, supporting young people to explore future skills, emerging technologies and career pathways. Our programs are purposeful and real‑world focused, inviting students to work on authentic challenges using industry‑aligned tools and ways of thinking. Learning is designed to build confidence, curiosity and capability that extends beyond the classroom. Equity and inclusion sit at the heart of everything we do. Hume Tech School prioritises student voice, universal design for learning and culturally respectful practice, ensuring students from all backgrounds can access high‑quality STEM experiences and feel a strong sense of belonging. We are collaborative by design, connecting schools, industry community and TAFE to co‑design learning that reflects real workplaces and community needs. Strong partnerships ensure programs are relevant, practical and responsive. Our purpose‑built facility operates as a living laboratory, with sustainability and future‑focused design embedded throughout. Through access to specialist facilities, emerging technologies and trusted partnerships, Hume Tech School supports young people across Hume to build skills, agency and aspiration for the future.
